Tekst achterflap

'Say goodbye to Google Street View, let Rothuizen be your guide.' de Volkskrant

Artist Jan Rothuizen draws and writes down what he sees, hears, and thinks as he walks and cycles through Amsterdam. In this 'soft atlas' of everyday life, we pass familiar landmarks such as the Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, the Red Light District, and the 9 Streets shopping district. Rothuizen also introduces us to Amsterdam's lesser-known places and residents like the Hash Museum, a budget hotel, the Turkish barber Ekmel, and the elderly Mrs. Kooy. In his successful The Soft Atlas of Amsterdam Rothuizen offers tourists, expats, and locals a fresh perspective on the city.
