'SUDAH_On heritage, art, cooking, and family' evolved out of Jessica Voorwinde’s personal exploration of her Moluccan roots. As granddaughter to Johannes Patty and Maria Sipasulta she discovered how little was actually known about their migration story — even within the family itself. Together with her friend and business partner Judith Öfner, she decided it was high time to record this history. The result is an affectionate project about family, heritage, and identity. About cooking as memory, about silence as survival, and about what gets lost when stories are never passed on. 'SUDAH' is a book, a podcast, and a digital platform—but it is first and foremost an invitation to listen, to recognize, and to hold on to things of value. Meaning something like ‘never mind’ or ‘things are good the way they are’, in this project the concept of Sudah has become a loving counter movement: a plea to not ignore you heritage, but instead honour it—in scent, taste, image, and memory. Als kleindochter van Johannes Patty en Maria Sipasulta ontdekte ze hoe weinig er eigenlijk bekend is over hun migratieverhaal - zelfs binnen de familie. Samen met haar vriendin en compagnon Judith Öfner besloot ze dat het tijd was om die geschiedenis vast et leggen. Het resultaat is een liefdevol project over familie, erfgoed en identiteit. Over koken als geheugen, stilte als overleving, en wat er verloren gaat als verhalen niet worden. 'SOEDAH' is een boek, een podcast en een digitaal platform - maar vooral een uitnodiging om te luisteren, te herkennen en te bewaren wat waardevol is. 'Soedah' dat zoveel betekent als 'laat maar' of 'het is goed zo', wordt een liefdevolle tegenbeweging: een pleidooi om je afkomst niet te negeren, maar te erer. - in geur, smaak, beeld en herinnering.
